Day 1 Arusha National Park
You’ve been dreaming of your Tanzanian safari for so long and the day when it begins has finally arrived. We’ll greet you, give you a quick rundown on what happens next and answer your questions. Then we’ll take you out to discover what this incredible country has to offer.
You could come to Arusha National Park for the wildlife –birds are abundant, you’ll almost certainly see giraffe, zebra and buffalo, and perhaps elephant and hippo. But you’ll hardly be able to take your eyes off the scenery – here the Rift Valley is at its most beautiful. Rising above the park, Mt Meru is a volcano drawn from a child’s imagination. And
Ngurdoto Crater is one of the most dazzling anywhere in Tanzania – it’s smaller than Ngorongoro, but otherwise is just as impressive.
Activities Day 1
Afternoon
- Transfer from Airport, Kilimanjaro Airport via Arusha National Park to Arusha Serena Hotel, Resort & Spa.
- This afternoon you’ll join us on a guided game drive through Arusha National Park. Your guide will show you the best Mt Meru views, and take you looking for wildlife.
Evening
- We will meet and greet you this evening at the start of your trip. We’ll make sure everything is ready for you to get going.

Day 2-3 Tarangire National Park
Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants and big cats. No wonder this ends up being the favorite park in Tanzania for many visitors. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras are also
almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here – Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations. While you’ll have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery savannah plains, river woodlands and rocky hills.
Central Serengeti National Park (Day 3)
Experience classic safari scenery with acacia trees and savannah grasslands, as well as plenty of wildlife, when you visit the Central Serengeti.

Morning
- Transfer by Road, Arusha Serena Hotel, Resort & Spa to Tarangire National Park Transfer time; 1 to 2 hours.
Afternoon
- Go on a guided game drive amid the baobab trees of Tarangire National Park this afternoon. On the drive, your guide will help you look for the lions and elephants for which the park is famous. It’s a
wonderful opportunity to ask all of the questions you want.
Around Lunchtime
- Join us for a picnic in Tarangire National Park, where you get to eat great food while surrounded by nature.
Activities Day 3
Morning
- This morning you’ll go on a guided game drive through part of the Central Serengeti. Keep an eye out for big cats, elephants and so much more as your guide leads you through this stunning park.

- Early this morning in Tarangire National Park, you’ll see plenty on your guided walk and learn so much from your guide.

Day 4 Lake Manyara National Park
Where the plains of northern Tanzania meet the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a wonderful place to spend a safari day. Your highlights for the day might include getting up-close-and-personal with the elephants that made this park famous, lots of baboons, as well as one of few lion populations in Africa that spend much of their time in the trees. Between the forests at the foot of the escarpment and the lake that gives the park its name, enjoy rich birdlife and the chance of seeing predator ambush their prey.

- Transfer by Road, Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara National Park Transfer time; about 45 minutes

- This morning in Lake Natron, we’ll take you on an excursion to visit the Maasai.
Evening
- Take a guided game drive around the forests and along the lakeshore of Lake Manyara National Park, and look for elephants and tree-climbing lions, all in the company of an expert guide.

Day 5 Lake Eyasi
Enjoy the views of this expansive lake, which ends up being an unexpected highlight for many travelers. Lake Eyasi is the homeland of the Hadza, a hunter-gatherer people, many of whom still live traditional lives.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Highlands
Explore the Ngorongoro Highlands, the high-altitude forests that cover the landscape close to Ngorongoro Crater. The climate here is much cooler than elsewhere in northern Tanzania, and the views of craters and mountains can be spectacular. Watch also for wildlife, including lions,
buffaloes and even leopards, in the forests.

Day 7-8 Ndutu
When you explore Ndutu, you’ll feel like you’re getting all that the Serengeti has to offer, but there will be far fewer vehicles to block your view. This is one of northern Tanzania’s best-kept secrets, easily accessible from both the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, and yet nicely off the main road between these more popular destinations. Ndutu is particularly good
for wildlife when the great migration passes through, but there are plenty of animals to see here, framed against the vast horizon, at any time of the year. It’s especially good for big cats.

Discover just why so many safari visitors fall in love with the Serengeti. Keep an eye out for big cats, even bigger elephants, and almost every kind of safari wildlife you can imagine. You might also see giraffe, impala, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, hundreds of species of birds, and that may all just be before breakfast.
