Sample Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your Nihapa Signature Safari begins with a private pickup from your Arusha hotel.
Travel toward Tarangire National Park, where the landscape changes from the surroundings of Arusha into a spectacular wilderness of ancient baobabs, open grasslands, and seasonal rivers.
After entering the park, begin your first game drive with your private guide. Tarangire is particularly known for its large elephant populations, but the park also offers opportunities to see lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and many other species.
Rather than rushing through the park, your guide will shape the game drive around wildlife activity, your interests and the conditions of the day.
Enjoy a carefully prepared picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your exploration.
In the late afternoon, leave Tarangire and continue toward your selected Signature Stay.
Overnight: Burunge Tented Lodge
Meals: Lunch and dinner
Day 2: Tarangire to Ngorongoro
Wake to the atmosphere of Tanzania's wilderness before continuing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The journey takes you through changing landscapes and highland scenery before reaching the Ngorongoro region.
Depending on the season and your preferences, your guide can incorporate additional wildlife viewing or scenic stops along the way.
Arrive at your Signature Stay overlooking or near the Ngorongoro highlands, where you have time to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
This is deliberately a slower part of the journey. After an active safari day, the evening is yours to enjoy your accommodation, the scenery and the quiet atmosphere of the highlands.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Melia
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for an extended game drive.
The crater's enclosed ecosystem supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. With your private guide, explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and, with luck, the endangered black rhinoceros.
Stop for a picnic lunch within the conservation area before ascending from the crater and continuing toward Serengeti National Park.
As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape opens dramatically into the vast plains for which Tanzania is famous.
Arrive at your Serengeti Signature Stay and settle into the rhythm of the wilderness.

Day 4: Full-Day Serengeti Signature Safari
This is the heart of your Nihapa Signature Safari.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti with your private guide, free to shape the day around your interests.
You may choose an early morning departure to experience the Serengeti as it awakens, followed by breakfast and a second game drive later in the day. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before setting out for a longer game drive with a picnic lunch.
Your guide will consider wildlife movements, recent sightings, weather and your interests when planning the day.
The Serengeti is home to enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra as well as lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and countless other species.
During the migration season, your route can also be adjusted based on herd movements.
Return to your Signature Stay in the evening for dinner and another night beneath the Serengeti skies.

Day 5: Serengeti to Arusha
Enjoy your final morning in the Serengeti.
Depending on your departure time and flight arrangements, you may have an opportunity for a final early-morning game drive before beginning your journey back toward Arusha.
As Tanzania's landscapes pass by, your guide can make scenic or wildlife stops where appropriate.
Arrive in Arusha in the afternoon, bringing your Nihapa Luxury Signature Safari to an end.
If you would like to continue your journey, we can arrange an extension to Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro or another destination in Tanzania.

Best Time for the Nihapa Luxury Signature Safari
Tanzania is a year-round safari destination, but different seasons create different experiences.
June to October is the dry season and is excellent for general wildlife viewing, with animals often easier to spot around water sources. This period also coincides with important stages of the Great Migration, depending on herd movements.
November to March brings greener landscapes and excellent wildlife viewing. From late January through March, the southern Serengeti and the Ndutu region can be particularly exciting during the wildebeest calving period.
April to May is the green season, offering lush scenery, fewer visitors, and attractive conditions for travelers who enjoy photography and a quieter safari atmosphere.
