7 Day Tanzania Serengeti Great Migration & Mara River Crossing Group Safari 2027

This departure series runs from July to October 2027, the main seasonal window for wildebeest herds in the Northern Serengeti and Mara River region. August and September are especially popular, but migration timing changes with rainfall, grazing and herd movement.

No. A Mara River crossing is a natural wildlife event and cannot be scheduled or guaranteed. The itinerary gives the group extended time in Northern Serengeti and your guide adapts the daily game-drive plan to current herd locations and conditions.

The route reaches Northern Serengeti on Day 3, dedicates all of Day 4 to migration tracking around the Mara River ecosystem and keeps another migration-focused morning on Day 5 before returning to Central Serengeti.

Yes. The scheduled small-group format is designed for solo travellers as well as couples and small parties. The vehicle carries a maximum of five or six guests depending on the departure, and rooming is confirmed during booking.

Each departure is configured for a maximum of five or six travellers in a purpose-built 4×4 Land Cruiser. The exact maximum and live remaining seats are shown on the departure card and booking dropdown.

Choose an available departure and pay the USD 100 seat confirmation by card through Nihapa Tours' WeTravel booking system. The 30% deposit is due 90 days before safari and must also be paid by card through WeTravel. The initial USD 100 is credited toward that 30%. We use WeTravel so payments can be reconciled and allocated accurately to the correct traveller and departure.

The remaining 70% is due 45 days before departure. Your invoice and booking record will show the amount due and the applicable final-payment instructions.

You can move to a suitable confirmed group departing on nearby dates. If the alternative dates do not work for you, you may request a full refund of all payments made toward that unformed departure. WeTravel card payments are refunded through WeTravel to the original payment method, with no cancellation penalty because the minimum group did not form.

Sometimes. If Nihapa Tours agrees that the safari can operate and you prefer to keep your original dates, the applicable 1-, 2- or 3-person price tier normally applies unless another arrangement is confirmed to you in writing.

The departure is automatically marked Fully Booked when confirmed participants reach its published maximum. The Join Group action is disabled and the departure is removed from the booking dropdown.

A departure closes automatically when its start date begins in Tanzania time or when the confirmed participant count reaches that departure's maximum capacity.

Yes, where applicable to eligible travellers. The mandatory inbound policy is included in the quoted 2027 safari price. Current published rate basis is free for infants aged 0–2, USD 22 for children aged 3–17 and USD 44 for adults aged 18+. Final eligibility, first-point-of-entry rules and rates follow the official policy in force when issued. Comprehensive personal travel insurance remains separate.

Yes. A Serengeti balloon safari is subject to availability and operating location, and Nihapa can also arrange a domestic flight, airport transfer and Zanzibar beach extension separately from the scheduled group safari.
