Carefully crafted shared group safari experiences with trusted local expertise in Tanzania and East Africa.
Every group safari is customized around your travel style. We create private chat groups where travellers plan together before departure, deciding on pace, style, and experience, making it feel more like a private safari tour than a fixed package group safari.
Clear safari pricing with detailed inclusions and no hidden costs. We share maximum group pricing alongside different tiers for transparency, and all payments and confirmations are handled openly through WeTravel so everyone stays informed throughout the process.
Experienced safari guides, carefully vetted lodges, and dedicated on-ground support. Our group tours are also fully insured, with each traveller receiving inbound travel insurance cover 30 days before arrival after completing final payments, for added peace of mind.
Based in Tanzania, we know these routes, parks, and experiences first-hand. We regularly handle large group safaris and have organized several incentive tours over the years, ensuring everything remains smooth, coordinated, and enjoyable from start to finish.
Most group safaris in Tanzania are built around filling seats. Ours are built around the experience.
At Nihapa Tours, we believe travellers should not have to choose between an expensive private safari and an overcrowded budget tour. That is why we created a different kind of group safari, one that combines the comfort, organisation, and quality of a private journey with the affordability and shared atmosphere of travelling together.
Every guest gets a guaranteed window seat in a proper 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof. Smaller groups create a smoother, more relaxed safari experience.
We keep each group together throughout the safari. The same guide, vehicle, accommodation style, and travel pace from beginning to end.
We choose comfortable lodges and tented camps that balance atmosphere, hospitality, location, and overall safari experience.
We do not mix guests from different companies or outsource your safari. One team manages the experience from arrival to departure.
Our safaris are ideal for travellers who want the social atmosphere of shared travel without sacrificing comfort or organisation.
We carefully coordinate departures to create balanced groups with compatible travel styles and expectations.
A Group Joining Safari (also called a shared safari) is a cost-effective way to experience Tanzania’s world-famous national parks. Travelers from around the world come together to share one safari vehicle, a professional guide, and the adventure. This allows you to split the costs of transport and guiding, making it budget-friendly without compromising the quality of the safari experience.
You’ll still enjoy guaranteed window seats, comfortable 4x4 Land Cruisers, and opportunities to spot the Big Five, the Great Migration, and Tanzania’s incredible landscapes, while also meeting new people along the way.
Most group safaris in Tanzania use specially designed 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers with a maximum of 6–7 travelers per vehicle. This ensures everyone has a window seat and plenty of space for comfort, as well as excellent views for wildlife photography. During low season, groups may be smaller, making the experience even more intimate.
The most popular itineraries range between 3 and 7 days:
Longer itineraries (10–14 days) can cover remote parks like Lake Natron or extend to cultural tours with the Maasai. If you have limited time, flying directly into Serengeti is also possible.
Group safari prices are designed to be all-inclusive so you can enjoy peace of mind. Typically included are:
Excluded items often include international flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, alcoholic beverages, and optional extras such as hot-air balloon safaris.
Prices vary depending on season, group size, and accommodation level. As a guide:
Peak season (June–October, December–February) is more expensive, while green season (March–May, November) offers lower rates and fewer crowds. Group joining safaris remain one of the most affordable ways to explore Tanzania.
Accommodation varies depending on your budget and chosen package:
Most group safaris use mid-range tented camps and lodges for the best balance of comfort and affordability.
Safaris operate year-round, but the experience differs by season:
Each season offers unique highlights—there is truly no bad time for safari.
While group safaris follow fixed itineraries, you can often add optional extras such as:
These activities are at an additional cost and should be booked in advance to secure availability.
Space in safari vehicles is limited, so soft duffel bags are recommended. Essentials include:
Remember to bring personal medication, a reusable water bottle, and copies of important travel documents.
Group Safari: Shared with other travelers, more affordable, follows a set itinerary. Great for solo travelers, couples, and those on a budget who enjoy meeting new people.
Private Safari: Exclusive use of a vehicle and guide, complete flexibility on itinerary and pace, ideal for families, photographers, or anyone wanting a tailor-made experience.
